Allyson Felix
Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Paul Felix, her father was a pastor ordained in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix's ability to compete in athletics was evident right from the day she began attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within a short time after her first race, Felix finished second in the 200 meters race of the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix completed high school in 2003, and signed with Adidas a contract as a professional athlete. The following year she was a student at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic Medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set an Junior World Record taking 200m in 22.18 seconds. The 2005 Helsinki World Championships saw her become the youngest woman to take home the 200 meters race. In 2007 she defended that title, beating her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix competed in her first Olympics at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo always finishing in the top three of her races.
